I just can’t help but mention that I was very honoured to have Michelle Pfeiffer as one of my clients at Square Hair,Vancouver.
She started coming to the salon about mid 2007.She had booked an appointment for hilites and a cut and blowdry.When she came in my assistant checked her in, her identity unbeknown to me, and seated her in our colouring section.I came over and began to chat,immediately diving into the colour coding consultation,totally absorbed in what I was doing.We decided on the colour and got started right away.Still not realizing who this beautiful woman was ! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT ???
I did the foil hilites.Super.We discussed the cut…she was growing it out a little.I trimmed the ends and brought the layering back into balance and blowdried.Michelle was quiet ( I realize now,probably confused a little at my complacency and somewhat nervous as it was her first visit,although she had been reccommended),but as I finished and started running my fingers through her hair,she kind of ‘ brightened ‘ and ..and ..and ..yes ! she said ” I LOVE my hair .What have you done?I LOVE IT ! ”
I smiled at her pleased with the result…and suddenly…my heart.. into my throat.I thought..could it be..could this be …? no ..it isn’t…And she stood up from the chair and turn to face me full on.My face must have been marshmallow pink.She said again ” no really…I LOVE my hair ! Thank you so much ”
Well for all the confidence in the world ,I stuttered,I felt my face turning crimson,I stepped back to pull the cut and blowdry chair aside and tripped over the edge of the leg.I managed ” You’re welcome.Thank you for coming in ” (..weak)
And that was it.She came in almost every six weeks after that.She mentioned that no one had ever been able to get that particular hilite colour.Of course ,I had done my famous double whammy and picked up the facet colour in her beautiful eyes.The hilites were perfect and her eyes took on almost a mother-of-pearl glow.( could it be possible to make them even more beautiful than they are already ? )
Ok.So that’s how it was.The last time I saw her was in February 2008 and she was leaving for Italy.I’m guessing it might have been for the interview for her new movie Cherie. Well that’s the last time I saw her.I knew that I had decided to relocate to Brisbane,but I hadn’t mentioned anything at the time.The salon was sold and I got to Sydney in July.And that was it.
